GEORGE SIDNEY MALINS

George was the second son of Sidney and Ellen Malins of Hampton, Evesham, Worcestershire. He had two brothers, Jack and Albert and a sister Vera. He had been in the Royal Navy for about three years before the sinking of the SS Nailsea Court and had travelled to North and South American ports in the course of his duties. He was last at home on leave in August 1942.

Serving in the Royal navy, George was on board the ss Nailsea Court as a DEMS Gunner *

My thanks to his great Niece Jo Johnson (Nee Malins) for contacting me with the above information and for kindly providing the following photographs of George on board ships prior to joining ss Nailsea Court.
